Trying New Things

Recently I decided to start drawing and I have never been one to just draw for fun but it’s something I wanted to do. We went to Ross to do a little shopping and I picked up a cute sketch pad and a watercolor palette that had pastel colors in it. Two days ago I decided to take it out of the Ross bag that it was still in grab my watercolors and just draw something. The drawing above is the first one I did and I posted it on my insta story and I was proud of my little drawing. The next day I drew another floral drawing and this one I posted to my feed and again I was happy with my drawing. My instagram is linked to my Facebook and my bestie saw it and she said she wanted it. Now at this point I didn’t think my drawings would lead to anything. My best friends grandmother saw my drawing that was posted to my Facebook and actually offered me some money to make more drawings. She said she wanted to sell them in her shop and put them in a gift basket with little soaps or something like that. I’m still shook that this offer was made and I’m so grateful for it.

The point I’m sure y’all received is don’t be afraid to try new things. You will never know what may come of your new adventure. So get out there and try something you have always wanted to try. I’m trying yoga next.

The pictures above are the two other drawings I have done so far. I know I’m not the greatest but I’m very proud of my art.

So wish me luck on this adventure and I wish you luck in your adventure. Let me know what you have decided to try.

Things a Woman should not be without when Traveling..

So, recently I accompanied a friend to run an errand and we ended up with a flat tire. She didn’t have a spare or any tools to change it even if she did. Luckily for us a Good Samaritan stopped and helped us with getting a spare and even brought tools. My friend offered to pay him or take him to lunch but he said no that he did it because we wanted to help.

So this got me thinking of things a woman should know and carry in her car when she is traveling by herself. All of these things are important and if there is more that y’all can think of write them in your comment.

When it comes to items you should carry in your car the first is always a spare tire in case you have a blowout. You need tools to change the spare tire and well also know how to change the blown out tire. That is very important thing to know now a days. You should also carry a flashlight and some flares in case you get stranded at night. Set up the flares so you and your car won’t get hit by another car.

You should also carry a fire extinguisher and a first aid kit in your car just in the event of a fire or you have cut yourself when changing your tire. These are things that should be found in your car for emergencies.

The next items are things you should carry in your purse as extra precaution just in the event you didn’t have a spare and need help. You should have a extra charger incase your car dies and don’t have a way to charge your phone. Have an emergency credit card and some cash in case you need it. Also carry something to defend yourself a gun or pepper spray in case you encounter the not so Good Samaritan. Memorize important numbers like home phone number, road side assistance and your insurance information.

I’m sure I have forgotten a thing or two so add to the list in your comment and let’s help each other out. Thank you for reading and I hope this helps someone in the future.

Preparation is the key to your success. You cannot dismiss the process and expect to be truly successful.

5 things I love doing on a Saturday Night

It’s Saturday and I have no plans of going out tonight I will be enjoying my time at home. Everyone has a Saturday routine and what they enjoy doing when they are at home with or without their significant other. Unfortunately my SO is at work so I will be doing the following things to have fun/pamper myself on this Saturday night.

1. Movie or show Marathon

I will pop in all my favorite movies and make a movie day out of it. I have several movies that i have as favorites and also some series movies that I can watch over and over again. Some of my favorites are The Fifth Element, Legally Blonde, Chicago, Step-Up, The Twilight Series, Harry Potter. My shows are Sons of Anarchy, Dexter, Riverdale, Zombie, The Walking Dead.

2. Read A Book or Two

I have recently rediscovered my love for reading you could say and I have started a reading challenge on Good Reads. My challenge is to read 100 books this year so far I have read 8 so I think I’m doing good. I love anything by Stephen King and Dean Koontz. I’m also trying to branch out and expand my author and genre list. So let me know some of your favorite authors in the comment section.

3. Pamper Yourself

I love to pamper myself and just relax with some wine. I love to put a treatment in my hair to make it shiny and healthy. While I have the treatment I put on a face mask and just let it clean and hydrate my face. We all need a day off from makeup because we need to let our face breath and recoup from all the chemicals. I love painting my fingernails and I have dozens of nail polishes to prove it. If this is too much you can never go wrong with just doing the simplest of things. Have a delicious bath with a bath bomb and a glass of wine and set up some candles and Relax.

4. Work on my Planner

I recently converted to a Happy Planner from an Erin Condren Planner. I like the Happy Planner because they have an array of different planners to choose from big to small. I picked up 3 small ones and I recently decided to combine all the together and made it a chunky planner. (Which is a thing) The three planners are my everyday, my fitness and my bible writing.

5. Redecorate my Makeup Room

Yes. I have my own makeup/crafts room and every once in a while I like to switch things up. I reorganize my desk and vanity and redesign it with new decor that I buy. You don’t have to spend a bunch of moola in new decor visit a thrift store and restore a new treasure. Most of the decor I have I bought from a thrift store or was given to me by my mother in law who shops at thrift stores regularly.

I hope this gave you some ideas for your next Saturday night in and gave you a chance to know me a little more. Let me know what you like doing on a Saturday night in the comment section.
